What does your kid learn?
Typing exactly. A letter only lights up when it is right, so your kid looks at the screen and finds the correct key, including capitals and letters with accents. When your kid copies an example, the dead tubes are already there and light up one by one, just like the Neon Repair mission in Typcoon.
After that it is mostly fun: making the sign as beautiful as possible and proudly saving it. That is the whole idea, because kids who enjoy typing type more often. Learning every key step by step, with the right finger, happens in Typcoon. More games are on the typing games page.
For parents: safe and no account
The word comes from a list of more than 1,500 kid-friendly words (animals, food, space, sports, fantasy and much more) or from a fixed list of common first names from the UK and the US, so your kid can put their own name on their profile picture. Every word and every name also goes through our word filter. Free text is not possible, so a sign never shows anything it shouldn't.
The picture and the GIF are made on your own device. The name or word is not stored or sent to us, and there is no account. The picture shows a small typcoon.com. Your kid can save or share the file, for example as a profile picture or in a chat, so agree together where that is okay.

Which names and words are allowed?
Your kid picks from more than 1,500 kid-friendly words (animals, food, space, vehicles, sports, fantasy and much more) or types their name, if it is on our list of common first names from the UK and the US. Capitals do not matter: chloe becomes Chloe. A name or word that is not on the list does not light up; the page then suggests names or words that look like it. Free text is not possible, so a sign never shows anything it shouldn't.
Is the name or word stored or sent anywhere?
No. The name or word stays on this page and the picture is made on your own device. We only count how often a button is pressed, without knowing who it is or what was on the sign.
How do I use it as a profile picture or wallpaper?
Under Save, choose what you want to make and press Make my picture. Save the file, or share it right away with Share. On a phone you can also press and hold the picture to add it to your photos. Then pick it in your app as a profile picture or wallpaper.
Does it work on a tablet or phone?
Yes. On a phone or tablet you type with the on-screen keyboard. Touch typing is best practiced on a real keyboard.
